Finally, Spider-Man has returned to New York City!
Under the watchful eyes of writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Adam Kubert, Marvel Comics’ premier web-slinger is set to come home in the pages of the June-launching “Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man” ongoing series. But before Spidey starts slinging webs in his old stomping grounds, CBR has an exclusive look at the series’ first issue.
“Holy cow, it’s insane,” Zdarsky said of his collaborator in a recent interview with CBR. “The artwork coming in from Adam is the best of his career, which is a problem because all I want to do is show everyone — but I can’t! He’s bringing a beautiful level of detail to the book while tapping into that humorous feel you mention. It’s a really beautiful combination.”
Check out the first look at Kubert’s art below, featuring Spidey swinging through the New York City terrain, and having a quiet, yet clearly emotional lunch with one of his best friends, Johnny “Human Touch” Storm.
